Come along and join the fastest growing sport on eight wheels in the UK. This 18-week programme is open to everyone aged 18 or over and will teach you the skills needed to play roller derby. Sessions are every Sunday 12:00 – 2:00pm. Please arrive 30 minutes early to kit up so you are ready to skate at 12:00. Can’t skate? No problem! Previous skating experience is desired, but not essential, though we do ask that you get some practice in before Fresh Meat starts so you are able to skate across the hall. Work hard and you’ll be playing hard in no time! What is the age limit? Roller derby is a full contact sport and our sessions are open to anyone over the age of 18 – there is no upper age limit! What do I need? • Quad roller skates with hard indoor wheels (around 92a or above) • Helmet • Knee pads (the more heavy duty, the better. You get what you pay for) • Elbow pads • Wrist guards • Gum shield for contact – Sisu Ultralight are most commonly used We have a limited amount of spare kit available to borrow on a first come, first served basis. There is also a very limited number of skates available to borrow. Feel free to get in touch if you want any advice about skate gear. What does it cost? £7 per session – please bring the correct change! Don’t fancy the full contact but still want to get involved? Or just a stickler for rules? Join our Ref crew! This sport wouldn’t run without our skaters in the striped shirts. Any questions? Post them below and we will be in touch. We will be releasing some FAQs over the coming weeks for you to have a look at. We look forward to seeing you on the track in April! DRG and DKRDDorset Roller Girls
